Carthage ISD PACE Academy has chosen the Why Try? Program to use as the primary behavior modification curriculum for students assigned to DAEP. The Why Try Program is a strength-based approach to helping youth overcome their challenges and improve outcomes in the areas of truancy, behavior and academics. Through the use of ten visual analogies, our students will learn social and emotional principles in a manner that is easy to understand and remember. Each visual component is reinforced with music and physical activities; therefore, all key learning styles – visual, auditory, and body-kinesthetic – are addressed.
